What to Do in an Earthquake

When there is an earthquake of 5+ or more on the Japanese seismic intensity scale, the gas meter automatically shuts off the gas.
Don’t panic, act calmly.

(3) Can you smell gas?

If you smell gas, do not use a ventilation fan, but open windows for ventilation. Close the gas meter valve, all other gas cocks, and appliance cocks, then call the “Dedicated Gas Leak Center” (Tel.: Ichikawa 047-325-1049). Do not touch the switches of electrical appliances etc.

If you find any problem, there is the risk of fire, carbon monoxide poisoning, or other accidents, so ask the manufacturer or vendor to inspect and repair the equipment, and also contact Keiyo Gas.

If the gas does not come out, check whether the indicator lamp on the gas meter is flashing. If the red lamp is flashing, please reset the meter yourself.
